Montenegro

The cooperation in the field of higher education of Montenegrin Universities and   faculties with universities and faculties around the region is predominantly of bilateral character. The European Union’s university  programmes of exchange like Erasmus Mundus - and within it - BASILEUS, JoinEU-SEE and CEEPUS are very important for enabling much wider mobility of students and academic staff. Also, Montenegrin University and faculties are taking part in co-operation projects which are financed through TEMPUS and Framework programme FP7.

International Summer University South Eastern Europe

One of the best examples of regional   cooperation is the International Summer University South Eastern Europe in Budva, Montenegro. The ISU SEE is a three-week programme which is organized in    cooperation with WU (Vienna University of  Economics and Business) and six South Eastern European partner universities. The programme is realized thanks to the friendly support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). The summer university aims at enriching participating students’ academic knowledge on the topic and at the same time expanding their intercultural competence. Courses taught by WU-lecturers will be complemented by course offered by local lecturers with practical and regional expertise. The International Summer University “South Eastern Europe” is designed for students who are already in their third year of studies of business and/or economics at the partner universities. Proficiency in English is required.

The courses offered at ISU are Intercultural Management, Law of European Integration, Economics of European Integration, South Eastern Europe and EU Enlargement Policy, Historical Aspects of Economic Integration in Europe. In 2010, six Kosovo students from the Faculty of Economy attended. The project as a whole was also coordinated by Foreign Relation Office (FRO) of the University of Prishtina. FRO of UP’s quote for internationalization is “Together through knowledge” and this is an excellent example of such cooperation.
